SE Asian Women Are Prudent Shoppers,

SINGAPORE: While women in Southeast Asia are generally prudent in their purchasing decisions, a new survey has found Vietnamese women to be the exception.

Hakuhodo, the Japanese agency, analysed data from its most recent Global Habit survey to examine the lifestyles and shopping perceptions of Southeast Asian women aged 20–34 in the six southeast Asian cities of Jakarta, Metro Manila, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.

Young Asians Seek Luxury Brands, Asia Brand Research

SINGAPORE: There are 100m affluent young Asians in the 18-35 age bracket who represent increasing opportunities for luxury brands and gadget manufacturers, a report has found.

A survey by Agility Research & Strategy of 2,452 respondents in this age group across China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam identified this group as “Generation AAA”, standing for aspirational, ambitious and affluent.
